We had a very lively discussion and I want to thank you all for your attendance, attention, and active participation and taking better control over your God-given talents and finances.  We learned how payments on debt, especially credit cards, rob us of our financial future, and the first "baby step" in achieving financial peace is to get out of debt with "gazelle intensity."

 

And you all should be quite encouraged:  after compiling our first financial snapshot, here is what our total class snapshot looks like (we'll take another snapshot after the last class to see the progress that we have made:

• # Credit Card Accounts:  38

 

There was also an IMPRESSIVE number of you with NO non-mortgage debt (5), so you all give us something to aspire to -- you'll all be ready then for the next baby steps of saving for emergencies, for retirement, for college, and finally paying off your house early.  As a reminder, the "homework" for this next week is to finish up your budget (if you haven't done so already), list out your credit cards and bring those that you would like to cut up to class next week, and complete your "debt snowball" if applicable.  Let's all support each other to become financially free!
