Welcome to St. Mary Church and thank you for visiting our website.
St. Mary Church has been here in Plano for the last 130 years. It was founded in 1885. Our mission is:
To be led and to lead others into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
We are a parish staffed by the Marian Fathers, whose United States headquarters is at the National Shrine of the Divine Mercy in Stockbridge, MA. The Marian Fathers arrived here sometime in the 1950's and soon afer facilitated in the building of our school. You can find out more about the Marians of the Immaculate Conception by visiting our "Meet the Marians" page.
At St. Mary, our parishioners come from about a 10 – 15 mile radius around Plano. We enjoy a multi-ethnical parish with our members coming from English, Spanish, German, Lithuanian, Polish, Hungarian, Italian and other ethnical backgrounds. There are two primary languages spoken in our community; English and Spanish.
We are all Catholic Christians and we come together as One Body in Christ. We enjoy our small rural and traditional environment that provides a welcoming atmosphere for all who attend and visit.
We opened our new church building in December of 2009 at the Christmas Mass and dedicated our new altar on February 14th, 2010. This new church will serve as the narthex of future phase of our planned building project.
Our school is Kindergarten through 8th grade. We are a solid Catholic education institution where learning the teachings of Jesus Christ through the Magisterium of the Catholic Church is of top priority.
We also provide solid religious education and sacramental programs for the children of our families that find Catholic grammar school not a viable option (Grades 1-8). Our adult faith formation programs include Bible studies, CD talks, and great Catholic literature in the back of our Church.
We hope you enjoy your visit to this site. I extend to you an invitation to worship with us. If it has been awhile since you attended church, I invite you to re-discover our beautiful Catholic faith. Should you desire to talk, I will make myself personally available to you. Welcome Home!
